She watched as one by one, guests were transformed. No longer there to party. But to play. To live. To survive. This was not what she was expecting when she accepted their invitation.
Dress to impress, it said. Wear a mask, it said. Prepare to die? Definitely didn’t say that.
Inch by inch she stepped backwards. Careful not to call too much attention to herself. Others saw her but no one said a word. A silent prayer that at least one of them should make it out alive.
Out of harms way she ran and tripped over a turtle statue.
Amidst Wonderland’s quirks, Alice meets the melancholic Mock Turtle, a being ensnared in nostalgia and regrets. His perpetual aura of sorrow serves as a poignant reminder: to not be shackled by the past but to harness emotions, transform them, and embrace the present.
