Erica, I think I have just given myself scary case of claustrophobia. I'll handwrite this when my fingers are working again!

'Hide'

Always the first one to be found. Not today. Feet first, wriggle backwards, the unforgiving limestone cold against exposed skin. Edge deeper, legs first, feet splayed. The fissure is angled. Soles touching a shelf, supporting a youthful body. Fingers exploring the darkness. They could see me if they look hard. A little deeper, breathe out, slipping. Whoa, caught. Arms pinned. Wriggle, breathe in. Push up. Nothing, no movement. Push, panic, breath shortening. Slipping lower. Shout, no words, no breath. Wedged. Hidden from view. Voices, fading. Over here, look down. The first drop, cool Autumn rain, pooling, flowing, filling. Hidden. Alone.
