TRANSCRIPT
With her crayons, Harriet scribbles furiously upon the page. She always starts with stick figures, then gives them each distinguishing things to easily tell them apart.
Her mother’s wearing her favorite scarf. A purple and yellow pattern. Her father and his silly hat that always makes her giggle. Toby, her little brother, holding his best friend ‘teddy’ by his side. And of course, their dog, Spot, in his bed. Her drawings aren’t perfect. But in her case, perfect isn’t the point.
They first discovered Harriet was special when she picked up a red crayon and scratched out her older brother.
The 3 of Crayons is a call to start making things. Even if they’re not good. Even if they’re beautiful. Making art is worth it at all times.
