TRANSCRIPT
Their cloaks whipped in the fierce winds as they huddled close together around a smoldering fire, fighting to remain alight. They moved in a circle, whispering an incantation to ask for rain to finally come.
One of them pulled off the hood of their cloak and exclaimed, “This isn’t working. We need him to join us.”
“Jacob,” another spoke, also removing his hood. “You know not what you say. We don’t need him. The rain will come.”
The third among them remained silent and hooded, waiting to resume their chant. He was a split personality. They were asking too much.
The 4 of Cloaks is about community, but expressly about it in hushed gathered groups, often about travel, mourning, or escaping danger. It speaks to queer community, refugees, and the persecuted or hated groups who must huddle in defense.
