TRANSCRIPT
The phone rang. Once. Twice. Three times. She looked down at it buzzing on the table. The caller ID said “Unknown” but she knew exactly who it was. A glance at the time confirmed it for her. All she had to do was ignore it. She flipped it over so she couldn’t see it and returned to eating her lunch at the 24hr diner.
Eventually, the buzzing stopped and so did her heart. But only for a moment. Were they leaving her a voicemail? Curiosity got the better of her and she flipped it over.
Then the phone rang again.
The Bell Tolls is the moment when everything changes in your life, even if only temporarily. It is the horrible phone call. The breakup. The tragedy.
