TRANSCRIPT
“Sit, sugar. Sit.” Her voice was sweet as honey. It had to be. “Tell me everything.” She waved a young, frail woman into the only empty chair in the room. Madame Tupu only made time for the desperate and the poor. Because the poor have the most valuable thing to give for her services; their souls.
The woman shivered from the pouring rain outside. And her teeth chattered when she spoke. “It’s…m-m-my ch-ch-children. They’re—”
Madame Tupu threw up her hand and stopped her. “I can help you, Sophie. But you only have one soul. I can only save one.”
The Unspoken is the avatar of all things left unsaid. It’s what you feel you want to share, all the things you wish you could say, but that you have kept back. You may keep it secret as a duty to another, or as a defense for yourself. In any case, it remains unspoken, and given to Them instead.
