TRANSCRIPT
The vine slithered across a cold, wet, ground towards her lifeless body. Suddenly, music played chords as it moved, growing faster, the beat intensifying as it wrapped itself around the wrists of her arms till it yanked her from the swamp.
Other vines, seeing what happened, joined in enveloping her legs. Together, they lifted her off the ground. Her eyes shot open. The music bounced, the strings danced, and the drums beat out a rhythm to her writhing body, screaming, trying desperately to break free.
“CUT!” The director shouted. “Excellent, Katie,” he continued. “We’ll have you down in no time.”
Tether is that thing that keeps you grounded, attached to the world outside your mind. A friend, a lover, a routine, a pet. Whatever it is, it’s your lifeline back to reality when all is unclear.
