“How do you play?” A little boy asked, curiously.
The old man with no teeth and a few wisps of grey hair shook a cup with five dice in it beside his ear, listening to the familiar sound.
“This ain’t no game you play,” he scoffed, insulted. “You gots ta listen to da dice to know what bout to ‘appen. Speak the right numba and ya wins more dan money. Ya wins life.” He slammed the cup down hard onto the table between them and shouted, “EIGHTEEN!” He lifted the cup and smiled, revealing the dice.
“Wow…” The boy whispered.
Fate’s Dice is a reminder of chaos and chance, but not just its presence in our life. Fate’s Dice speaks of it in spaces where its randomness, and the increased risk of failure, is without danger. It asks you to learn to accept, embrace, and support danger and risk in spaces that cannot harm you, to better accept it in life where it can.
