“Ready or not…here I come!” The little girl whispered these words while her hands covered her shut eyes. Then she opened them with a smile. This was her favorite part. Especially, when she thought about how quickly she’s always been able to find her friends.
She could hear her mother humming a tuneless tune from the kitchen. No one would be there. Ah! Her bedroom!
She ran upstairs and slowly opened her door. On her bed she found one of them clearly hiding under her blanket.
“Gotcha,” she said as she pulled back the sheet. No one was there.
Trapped in a Closet comments on a space in which you are unheard. It can be a part of your identity, or a truth of yourself, but in either case, you are treated as a haunting presence, never truly seen.
