Today on Erica Drayton Writes, the Prompt is owl!
Write a 100 word story.
And tag me if you take up the challenge.
In the stillness of the night an owl hoots a song to the full moon. Two unlikely loves. Then another owl hoots in the distance.
The first owl is alert. Looking for whoever dares come between their love song. Silence.
The owl starts to sing their song again. The moon so big. So bright—
Another owl hoots a similar song of love to the moon. The first owl grows angry and jealous. It takes flight in search of the other.
By the shine of the moon it sees the owl in the still blue water. Unafraid, it dives to attack!
The Barn Owl, I think for many, comes through as Wisdom. The lotus is a symbol of wisdom, spirituality, growing in the muck of swamps and being beautiful all the same. Our Alleyman would have us believe it’s about being economical with food.
