The dream catcher blew violently in the ominous wind. Hanging on by one flimsy string, it was clear that its next trip would be a long one. With the full force of nature behind it, the wind ripped the dream catcher from the girl’s window as she continued to sleep soundly.
Without her dream catcher to protect her, the beasts of the wild began to circle. Her protection against nightmares and anything that little girls are afraid of had vanished. She tossed and turned in bed, images of a bear standing on its back legs, roaring.
“Go away!” She shouted.
God gave me that girl to lean on
Then He put me on my own
Heaven, help me be a man and
Have the strength to stand alone
I don't like it, but I guess things happen that way
