It’s the roar of the crowd. I can’t live without it. Like a moth to a flame I know I’ll get burned. But it’s the moment before I go out on stage and I hear the announcer, that my heart starts to race.
I grip my guitar. The shoulder strap suddenly feels heavier. The weight of expectations creep into my mind. I glance at the mirror. No reflection. They don’t need to know that. It’s show time!
My routine is simple. I play for the guests. My music is a distraction while the ladies do more than pass out drinks.
