The cadaver dog sniffed and pulled on her lead through the white snow. She knew exactly where she needed to take the searchers. They trusted her nose but they knew she was taking them in the right direction by the red droplets in the snow.
The farther they ran through the thick snow, the droplets got bigger and bigger. Everyone had a sinking feeling in the pit of their stomach. They knew there were likely no survivors after lost for nearly a month in the arctic tundra.
But they never anticipated the scene when they found their bodies Christmas Eve.
