In shock, David knocked into the tree causing it to tip forward onto one of the four singing girls as the curtain was closing.

“Sorry!” David whispered as she was carried off stage by the remaining three girls who glared at him as they went by. Miss. Hiller and Sam looked at each other and quickly walked in opposite directions as if they weren’t just talking. “Sam! What’s going on?”

“She knows,” was all Sam said before getting lost in the crowd of stagehands preparing for the final number.

“Since when is there a coffin in this number?” David asked.
