Death beckoned David to come closer as a girl started singing on the other side of the stage. David raised his eyebrows at her and she shrugged her shoulders.

David squared his shoulders. What could happen to him while the audience watched? He walked confidently across the stage without any fear.

Death reached out his hand towards David and waited. David looked out at the audience, searching for his parents but the spotlight made it impossible to see.

He held out his hand and Death pulled him into the coffin before it shut.

The audience applauded for ten uninterrupted minutes.
