Write a 100 word story.

She carefully lifted the lid on the flat, rectangular box. Her mother looked on with bated breath as her daughter held the spade in her hands. Eyes wide with joy.
“Is this it?” the little girl asked.
Her mother nodded. “But you must be careful with it, child. Not everythin’ you dig up will be glitterin’ gold.”
Before her mother could give her any more warnings she’d heard her whole life, she ran outside to their back garden and started to dig near their oldest tree.
It appeared as if out of thin air; an eyeball staring up at her.

100 words of Spade

The group walked for two hours in the dark forest, among trees, birds and a few small animals. The aim of the walk was to cross the forest. Almost at their destination, one of the group spotted a spade entangled in small bushes.

The others came closer. Under the shovel, the earth seemed to have been stirred up. No one dared to pick up the shovel, except John, who a few days earlier had been in the same place with his girlfriend. He proposed to her that day. It was also the last time she was seen standing alive.
