His mother sits in a rocking chair in the furthest, darkest, corner of the room, she nervously watches her son sleep soundly in his bed. The third night without any sleep and the strain is beginning to show in her bloodshot eyes.
Her heavy eye lids. Closing then opening. Closing. She pinches her scarred arm to stay awake. She mustn’t fall asleep. Her son’s life depends on it.
She glances at the clock on his bedside table; 2am. Like clockwork, he throws back the blanket and gets out of bed. Walking in his sleep, he starts to leave the house.
