Write a 100 word story.

The gavel banged on the table to silence the men who were having side conversations.

“Gentlemen, this meeting will now come to order. Our one and only item on the agenda is ready for a vote,” said their leader. A hand raised to speak. “Yes?”

“As the condemned I demand to know the charges I am guilty of.”

Their leader scoffed, “I’m sure I speak for everyone here when I say we feel obligated to deal with accusations of murder, internally. And make no mistake, whatever the outcome, we will execute—”

“But I’m innocent!” He shouted as the voting began.
