Please Leave the Premises | A 100 Word Story
#631 | The Honeymooners Classic 39
Today on Erica Drayton Writes, the Prompt is house!
Write a 100 word story.
And tag me if you take up the challenge.
The sign nailed on a large twisted and naked tree, more dead than alive, told us that we were definitely in the right direction. It read, PLEASE LEAVE THE PREMISES, in thick black paint. Some of the letters written backwards and others faded over time.
When we arrived everyone we tried to speak to warned us to go back home. No one would speak to us about the Davis House or what happened there long ago. But the local drunk slurred directions to us before passing out.
Ignoring the sign, we followed the path till the house came into view.

My 100 words of "House"
________________________
The house had been abandoned for a long time. No one had set foot inside that house for a long time. And nobody wanted to buy it.
The last resident had hanged himself. The house had a kind of soul, as if it were alive, and an identity. “The yellow house”. It stood at a crossroads between roads,
The yellow house was still standing, and no signs of decay were visible. It was as if somehow the house still had a tenant who looked carefully after it.
The yellow house has existed for 200 years. No one can outlast it.
Very visual & atmospheric in 100 words.
I'm off to scribble mine. I had fun working on the dog prompt.
