The pounding on the door was like a pounding in my ears. It started soft and sweet and innocent enough. A faint whisper asking me to open the door. And I almost did, but a niggling in the back of my head told me to look through the peephole first. And was I glad I did!
I’ve heard tales of the devil who comes knocking on the unsuspecting. We invite the devil in. Never once realizing what we’ve done. But the moment it crosses the threshold it’s over.
I stepped back from the door. Unafraid. And shouted, “NOT TODAY, SATAN.”
