“I wish you’d stop looking at your watch,” she said nervously. “It’s not going to make this go by any faster.”
“Sorry. It’s a nervous habit of mine. I kept checking the time during my last appointment too. This your first time?”
“Yes. You?”
“Fourth,” he said, avoiding eye contact.
“Four? What the hell do you say in there that they let you walk free?” She asked, sounding desperate for his answer.
“I don’t know, really. Unfinished business—”
She scoffed. “Death must have grown a conscience. Unfinished business,” she teased, rolling her eyes. “I’ll never get away with that lie.”
