She throws her head back when she feels the music. I taught her that. The way my momma taught me.
“Throw your voice up to the Lord.” That’s what my momma used to say. “That way the angels can hear your message. And the devil can’t tell no lies.”
I used to sing with my momma when I was little like my daughter. She’d hold my hand and squeeze it tight. She taught me love so I can pass it down to my daughter.
She’s with the angels now, but I still teach her all I know to be true.
