This guitar has never been played. Not one note. Not one rhyme. Not one melody. It has no history or frame of reference for what it likes or even what it knows.

It carries the enormous weight of all who came before. Without playing one note it is set up for failure right out the gate. What if it chokes? The wrong key played and that’s that. No one plays the bad luck blues.

But its next note could be epic. Start a revolution. Get the girl. End a war. Be worth dying for.

We’ll never know without the note.
