He was a low down dirty scoundrel is what he was. But he was my fella. And in a town like this fellas, even low down dirty ones, ainât easy to come by. So when ya got one ya gotta hold on to âem. And thatâs all I was doinâ ya see.
That floozy waltzed into my place of business and bought my fella a drink. Sat beside him. Leaned in and laughed. I could smell her clear across the bar. Through the grease and the beer.
So IâŚlet her have it. I was just protectinâ my property officer!
