When I walked through the gates to my grave; The ground beneath my feet was hard The ground beneath my knees was so hard; And my heart felt like I would give way To the pounding coming from below I dug through the dirt till my fingers bled Till the rhythm of her heartbeat did slow I dug through to the coffin my fingers still bled Then I pressed my ear down but her heartbeat was slow The coffin opened and I looked inside; An empty bed waiting for me I lay my head down and let it take me.
