She kissed her daughter on the forehead before standing to leave the bedroom.
“Mommy?”
“Now, you’re supposed to be sleeping, Isabel.”
“I know, but what happens to the man? You didn’t finish the book.”
Her mother eyed her sleepy daughter and said, “The fairy came back, this time with two chalices, giving the man a choice. One can bring him love and happiness. The other, money and danger. But he wouldn’t know which one he drank.”
The little girl thought long and hard, then said, “I hope he got money and danger. That would make for a much better story.”
