Guests at the birthday party for Lord Waverly had no idea he was standing trial for crimes against humanity outside. All anyone had to do was look out a window and they would see a condemned man, his hands tied behind his back, asked to defend his heinous actions or suffer a terrible fate.

Lord Waverly refused to speak after professing his innocence. Surely, someone will look for him and stop this foolishness. He thought this right through the guilty verdict.

And was his last thought before the hangman’s noose was put around his neck.

But his guests partied on.
