It slithered across the sticky carpet. Bits of food and pools of red punch stains slowing it down. She lay on the couch, unsuspecting. Asleep. Snoring.
In the background her television show changed from comedy to horror in an instant. Flashing lights and screams warn her, but sleep consumes her. Snoring stirs her!
Eyes open briefly. Her hand gripping the remote lets it go. A sign of defeat. Horror wins over comedy every time. It slithered round the remote, raising its body, black scaled head and yellow eyes, ready to bite.
She snores louder. It skitters away into darkness again.
