The child is older now. Running out of a house, towards his parents holding hands on their front yard. Still smiling. Still oblivious.

See an exhibit of paintings. The deconstructed couple. A gravestone under a tree beside a burned down house. They’re still holding hands. Their eyes are gone. Their smiles, a cry for help too late.
