Every night Little Johnny Panser sat at his window and made a wish on all the stars. He figured, why wish on one shooting star when the sky was filled with thousands.
His wish was the same every night, “Please oh please, stars in the sky, make me a beautiful butterfly.” Little Johnny desperately wanted wings so he could fly wherever he wanted to go.
One day he caught a butterfly and refused to let it go. Eventually, plucking its wings the butterfly died.
The stars, filled with sadness, turned the boy into a rabbit the night before hunting season.
