She held her newborn tightly as she ran barefoot through the dense forest. She wasn’t being followed. Her reason for running was far more dangerous.
She knew exactly where she was going and what to look out for. It was as if she had run through this forest many times before. And she had, in her dreams.
Every time, just before she’d wake up, she and her newborn turned to stone.
The baby let out a whimper and she tried to shush it. But it was too late. A woman and her baby can be found deep in the forest.
