“Is she back there? I demand to see her!” The manager peeked over his shoulder, a familiar hand waved above the booth. He stepped aside and let the frazzled woman go past him.
She slid into the booth. Her eyes transfixed on the sight before her.
An elderly woman with jet black hair and almost no make-up except on her lips, sat waiting for her company. A cockroach crawled across her forehead and disappeared into her hair but she didn’t flinch.
“What is it you want, my child?”
The woman gulped as she watched a spider emerge from a nostril.
