The notice appeared on the community board overnight, under cover of darkness, when no one could argue or complain. Not that anyone could argue or complain.

We are, after all, just trying to survive. At the mercy of those far smarter and stronger. We give and they take. Have done for hundreds of years now. But never have they ever taken what they’ve just claimed is needed.

We gather round the community board, as we do each morning, to receive our assignments. Sometimes our punishments; such as lack of food or sleep.
