The hole in the bottom of the boat didn’t seem all that concerning. At least, not until the weather took a turn and water was entering the small boat from above and below at record pace.
A mother paddled frantically, praying land would come into view soon to save her little boy, wrapped in a blanket and fast asleep.
Through the eye of the storm she could make out what looked like an island. Were her eyes playing tricks on her or had she found safety for herself and her son?
Hours later a boat washed up on shore, empty.
