After her mother turned the light out and closed the door, Lila sat up in bed and opened her blinds to let the light of the moon shine through. As she was afraid of the dark.
A shadow moved across her wall, with fangs and one red eye. It danced and pranced and made her giggle. Maybe there was nothing to be afraid of.
She climb out of bed and danced in the moonlight. Her shadow joining the other. They danced together.
Her mother burst into the room. “Quiet down in here…”
But the shadows, and the girl, were gone.
