“Okay class. Times up. Let’s all line up for recess,” Ms. Pinrose said to her students. Two-by-two they walked out of the classroom and made their way to the courtyard with the other classrooms.
Ms. Pinrose returned to her empty classroom and started collecting the drawings on each of her student’s desk. One-by-one she smiled as she saw attempts at drawing a house and stick figure parents. One student even attempted to draw her car and her dog.
Then Ms. Pinrose’s eyes spotted a drawing covered in red crayon. Two stick figures cried bloody tears. While one small child smiled.
