“…birthday to you…”
A large group of people stand around a table and watch me with smiles on their faces. Beaming. I lean forward and reluctantly blowout the candles on a cake. Everyone applauds and laughs.
I’m handed a carving knife to do the first cut before it’s promptly taken from me and the cake is whisked away by a woman with long brown hair.
“Hey birthday girl, what did you wish for?” An elderly woman asks me.
I look up at her and our eyes lock. She can tell something isn’t right.
“Who are you? It’s not my birthday.”
