As the pair of them slept on their raft, a fog surrounded them. It entered their nostrils which made them remain asleep. Their bodies motionless while frogs on lily pads and birds on branches watched and waited. The river that was once teeming with the sounds of nature had grown still.
A pair of yellow eyes in the distance swam towards the raft. It was joined by another pair and another pair.
The sound of a gunshot rang out clear across the forest. The fog and the eyes disappeared as if a dream. A frog croaked and the dreamers woke.
