My eyes shoot open. The clock on my bedside table says 11:42pm. Bloody hell! I only just fell into bed an hour ago. My eyes get heavier. I don’t fight it.

It’s 1:13am now. Why am I awake? Did I forget to turn something off? Put something away? Lock a door? My mind cycles through every possibility that could be keeping me up before I fall asleep again.

Drip. Drip. Drip.

2:09am?! This is insane! Why can’t I stay asleep? Also, why can’t I feel my arms or my legs?
