Species 123 grunted under the tightness of the vines that wrapped around its arms and legs. Then, with its eyes closed, managed to steady its breathing. Species 123 had relaxed enough that the vines loosened their grip.

“Excellent progress, Species 123. I think you might be ready for the next trial. But we must ask the Eye first, mustn’t we?”

Species 123 winced as a voice came over the loudspeaker.

PROCEED.

The vines freed Species 123 who immediately stood up and tried to escape but failed.

“Idiot! Well, send in Species 122.”
