As the train pulled out of the station I breathed a sigh of relief. So loud, in fact, the lady sitting next to me grinned at me in a rather condescending way. If she only knew what I had just been through. Being chased through city streets and nearly getting caught but managing to lose them at the perfect moment.
Of course, I don’t know who “they” are or if I did lose them. I just know I suddenly feel a sense of relief wash over me. Even after the lady starts to scream for help!
“I think she’s dead!”
