Sam took a long drag from her pipe and wondered what the day would bring. Having just solved a triple homicide two days ago, she was grateful for the time spent in quiet reflection on the bay in Maine. But she knew all too well that this kind of lackadaisical lifestyle would not last long. Not for her.
Sam was a woman of many talents, none of which involved resting on a lawn chair, smoking a pipe, listening to seagulls fly overhead.
