He slammed the shovel into the frozen ground. Any other time of year it would be easier to dig but tonight, under the watchful gaze of the full moon, the shovel barely broke through. He used his black boots to push it down further bringing up the first clump of dirt, cursing along the way.
Time and weather were not on his side. And it didn’t help matters much when the first snowflake landed on the tip of nose. He dropped to his knees, leaning the shovel against a gravestone, to light a cigarette he kept tucked behind his ear.
