My Most Anticipated Games in 2023
It’s fairly easy for me to put this list together as my tastes are VERY limited. I know what I like and I know what I’m really not interested in. It also helps that I only have Nintendo consoles. I also own an X-Box but that’s so my wife can play Call of Duty.
GAMES I KNOW ARE RELEASING IN 2023
Zelda Tears of the Kingdom | No, I didn’t finish Breath of the Wild. Yes, I’m more than happy to pay $69.99 for the game. Let me get those two points out of the way first. Also, while I’m partial to the old school Zelda games, I am impressed by how they’ve managed to open world the games now and I look forward to playing for many hours this Summer.
Hogwarts Legacy | Another $69.99 game that I’m a-okay with paying. Controversy aside, I am a Harry Potter fan and I’ve never played any of the games. This one seems like the best one and the right time for me. I realize I have an X-Box and I will likely get a much better playing experience by playing the game on that console versus my Nintendo Switch. But I’m one of those die hard Nintendo fans who will play it on Nintendo regardless of the graphics. Is it July yet?
GAMES I THINK/HOPE ARE RELEASING IN 2023
Pokemon Gen X | I have other guesses in this department but I’m starting here as I think this is the least likely. I fully expect the next “new” pair of games to come along after the new Switch (Pro or 2). In any event, we know the next pair is coming and they can be anything: Ying and Yang, Circle and Square, Knees and Toes, etc. If something comes it won’t be announced until Summer/Fall and will release Friday, November 17th.
Pokemon Sequel or Remake | When I say sequel I mean specifically X/Y as those are the only pair of games (aside from SwSh and SV) that hasn’t had a sequel yet. So, why not? Or we can do a remake in the animated style of BDSP (which I like though I realize I’m probably in the minority there…). If this happens I doubt they’ll wait till November to release it. Why not just push it out in June? Wedge it right between Zelda and HP.
NINTENDO SWITCH ONLINE RELEASES
With the amazing announcement of Game Boy and Game Boy Advance consoles added to NSO, I feel I must make my wish list for games to come at least this year. First, let us all agree they are not likely to release any other consoles this year, even though they did release NES/SNES together and then Sega and 64 separately. Is it possible people will get GameCube like they’ve been clamoring for? I much prefer DS as it will open up the DS and 3DS library of games and we all know why we want that, right?

Zelda A Link to the Past & Four Swords
I’m sure there are some Mario games they could release and maybe Donkey Kong while they are at it. But for now, those are the ones I’d really love to see coming later this year (aside from the ones they’ve already announced but I’m not all that hyped up about).
