Supplemental #4 | A Full Season Over and Changes Coming
TOS Season 1 | Episodes 20-29
Okay, this supplemental is later than I wanted it to be and a bit different from my last two. I’ve been looking at the stats for this publication of mine and something I noticed straight away was the lack of subscribers even though the number of visitors has been pretty high. My guess? I’ve been posting every single day. And on days where I miss a review I will double up on the following day. I can see how that can be a deterant for those who come to Stardate and wonder if they really want a daily dose of Star Trek. Then again, I could be wrong an the reasons for not subscribing are totally different.
I wanted to do this supplemental the day after I finished season one but time came and went and I got busy. Then I thought about yesterday, but thought April Fool’s day wasn’t the day to make announcement about changes. They might be taken as a joke and not as Hoyle.
I did mention early on (and in the About page) that the frequency of my reviews might fluctuate depending on how I felt about it. I was doing pretty well with daily reviews. But for Season Two, if you haven’t noticed already, I’ve transitioned to every OTHER day. This has give me more time to really digest each episode and not left me burnt out trying to cram in watching an episode one day and reviewing the next, or sometimes having to do both on the same day depending on how far behind I fall. I realize that doing it this way will alter my plans for when I’ll start and finish series but I could decide one a day is best regardless of anyone’s feelings. Let’s just do every other day for Season Two and see what I ultimately decide when I get to Season Three of TOS.
I’m also going to be much more sporadic with my supplementals. Season Two and Three are not the same number of episodes as Season One so I don’t want to set myself up to promise more supplementals than a season needs. Therefore, I’ll commit to at least ONE supplemental per season and should I feel there was just too much after watching several to wait till the season ends I’ll insert one as I see fit.
In the meantime, sit back, and relax. I’ve got plenty more Stardate reviews coming, including a few movies in a row that I’m really excited to dig deeper into.
Lastly, I purchased a limited edition Star Trek thing and I’m so terrified to open it that it’s still in its packaging! What should I do?

In an ideal world I will finish Season Two this month, however, my maternity leave ends on April 11th, and with 1000 unread emails waiting for me, plus all of my work load coming back to me, the likelihood is slim. If my goal doesn’t pan out, I will attempt to finish Season Two by mid-May.
Till then 🖖🏾!
