Dear Reader,
The date was May 1st. The year was 2023. Little did I know that I would still be writing 100 word stories 770 days later! But here I am and I’ve decided to officially stop my streak at 1,000. For those of you doing the math, when the dust settles, I will have written 100,000 words collectively! There are some “extra” stories I’ve written along the way intended for special editions that no one has seen. But for the sake of the streak, that will be the absolute and official word count and…yeah…pretty cool, huh?
Well, as I reflect on the road I’ve traveled as well as the road I’m yet to encounter it occurred to me that I wanted to reserve some space for all of you who’ve been on this journey with me. Whether it was from Day 1 when I wrote Mahjong or last night when I sent my 770th consecutive email, you’ve put up with my daily grind and I will be forever grateful.
THE ELITE 100
I’d love to extend an opportunity for you to be a part of what I’m calling my “Elite 100!” I’m hoping to dedicate the final 100 100 word stories (#900 - #1000) to all of you and this is how I’m going to do it:
For each person who donates $20 I will write one 100 word story that will be dedicated to you and included in my special edition book. You will also be sent the Ebook version of this book before it’s officially published! That’s all 1,000 stories!
Make it $40 and I’ll include a full year comped of my Substack where you’ll have access to the first 500 100 word stories that are currently archived behind a paywall.

Lastly, a few interviews I had:
I released one short story in May. Many thanks to
’s prompt. It was just the motivation I needed to write a short story. It had to be shaved down to fit the recommended word count, so I do intend to release an “extended version” at a later time.I had two really, almost life-changing, amazing conversations with two people I highly admire and respect.
was gracious enough to join me in a casual conversation about her latest book release, Ivy & Ixos, from her popular Ferris Island universe. Then shared his process for the last 52 weeks when he completed “My Bradbury Year” and his process for now releasing all 52 stories he wrote. If you’re not subscribed to them, do yourself a favor and get on that because they are both releasing some amazing fiction.
Thank you so much for participating in and promoting SS/BB! I look forward to your extended edition.
