Hello VIP Reader
As we head into the holiday season and embark on a New Year of beginnings I want to talk a little bit about endings. THE END is two words that we often find when we finish a story (whether reading or writing). Two words I never really liked.
I much prefer "TO BE CONTINUED..." Now, these three words leave open the possibility of more, regardless whether or not there will ever be more. At least there is that glimmer of hope. And what more could we all ask for in 2020 than hope. I bring this up because for the past few weeks I've been dabbling in stories where I found myself writing "To Be Continued..." at the end. I just couldn't bring myself to "end" something I knew I could work on further if I wanted to. And after doing some research I discovered that this idea of mine was in the realm of a web series, only, not in just one never ending world. I'm not ready for such a task. My idea would open the possibility for an endless supply of story-starters!
I want to take the concept of To Be Continued to a whole new level. I want to write something short and sweet that will pique the reader's interest and then move on to the next story. I'll write in any genre I want, about any thing I want, but I'll keep it all very minimalist. After all, I'm transitioning and entering a world of rediscovery. Am I a novelist or a storyteller? Can I be both? I hope that 2020 will answer these questions I have about my passion for writing and so much more.
And I hope that you will take this journey of discovery with me.
Every Friday I'll post a To Be Continued story. My Patrons will get Early Access to them first but they will all inevitably be available to everyone after one month's time. So, why become a patron? Here is the plot twist on my idea: Patrons will vote on which of my To Be Continued stories I will circle back around to add an additional 1K words to the plot. If you like a story I started and want to know what could possibly happen next if I had the opportunity to add to it, here is your chance to make that happen.
Tiers start at just $1. What do you have to lose?
If you're a fan of web serials I can't promise I'll be as popular as Worm or The Wandering Inn, but I can promise you'll love the many quick reads I'll have for you to choose from.
