Dear Readers,
The time has come for weekly short stories for your reading pleasure. This is my second year doing this. So, for the next 16 weeks, you should look for a brand new short story from me. Keep in mind that life events may certainly happen to cause me to miss a Friday. My plan is to deliver the story even if it isn’t on a Friday.
My word count goal for each story is between 1,000 - 3,000 words. The genres will vary but I tend to write unhappy, thriller/suspense, and mystery-type endings to my stories. As per usual, every story will have an image I’ll use as my inspiration. I already have all 16 images picked out as you can see HERE. The order I will use each image will be different.
I’m also hoping a short-short start (of no more than 1,500 words) will spark in my mind for the Writer’s Digest Short-Short Story Competition. The early-bird deadline is November 15th.
WORTH THE WATCH
For anyone who knows about Bullet Journaling (or BuJo for short), this might be helpful to you. It’s a ritual that the creator of the practice does on the 1st of every month and I found it most illuminating. Definitely makes me want to pick up the habit (again) in 2023…
WHAT YOU MISSED
FRIDAY FICTION 2.0 SEASON I - UPDATE
I have started to put together the ebook and print files for all 15 stories that will be featured in my first collection of short stories. I decided not to list them in order of publication and will be going by a different order that you’ll have to figure out yourself. I hope to have a sneak peek of cover art for you in the coming months and a concrete date when you can purchase the print book on Amazon (if you want). Otherwise, all of my subscribers will receive the epub file of the collection as a THANK YOU for sticking with me last year and this year.
If you become a paid subscriber before publication you will be personally thanked in the acknowledgment ePub and print files.
