The true mariner does not fear the sea. Its temper is what must be - a force as old as time itself, older and more powerful than that of human kind,. There is no cruel violence in the storm, no wickedness in waves, no criminal intent in the sweeping of the great currents, no anger in the wind’s wildness. Greater than the land, the sea wraps the world in the gift of weather. Lifted up as rain it sustains every living thing.

It is landfall that the mariner fears, for it is where we live - in greed and anger.
