What are your thoughts on using the Tarot for predictions? I once had a deck of Tarot cards and did a reading for my sister that predicted my niece’s death. It terrified me, and I haven’t used one since!

If you haven't read it already, I'd highly recommend Italo Calvino's "Castle of Crossed Destinies," in which visitors to a castle find they cannot speak and end up telling their stories through tarot cards. Calvino is a master storyteller and makes the premise work better than I could have imagined.
Much more expensive (but perhaps worth it) is Tarot from the Taschen Library of Esoteria. Taschen is best known for its art books, so, though there is text, the emphasis is on magnificent images. Although it doesn't reproduce any deck in its entirety, its strength lies in presenting samples for a lot of obscure decks that you won't find anywhere else.
